Discovering Your Blogging Niche

Rule number one when blogging is to write about something you are well versed and you are passionate. This is important because you must update your blog regularly and if you choose an area in which you have little interest it will soon become a chore.

If you love sports and stay informed on current sports events, a sports blog is right up your alley. You can write about your favorite team or teams, or sports across-the-board. Creating posts would be fun and educational for you as well as your followers. You can report on the latest news stories, highlights of the last game as well as interject a bit of history and trivia. There are millions of sports fans so you should gain a large following quickly. Make sure your content is relevant to today's events and presented in an interesting way (it helps if it's entertaining too). Encourage your followers to comment. This will give you ideas for future posts.

Are you good at managing money or finding bargains? If so, you can share your strategies. How to find and use coupons, how to find great deals and how to always pay less than full price would be a great blog and a surefire way to get followers. Your blog would be very popular. Who doesn't want to save on groceries and other essentials? You will probably even get some great ideas from your followers.

Blogging about personal experiences is always a good idea. If you care for someone with a disability or an illness, you can blog about their struggles and how you have learned to solve problems. Blogging about daily care, latest treatments and ongoing research of a specific illness are great topics. Sharing your daily challenges can help others in similar circumstances. There is comfort in sharing your personal experiences and blogging is a great way to connect with others similarly effected. Blogging about your personal struggles is therapeutic and an added benefit to you.

Parents always have good stories and advice on parenting. Blogging about the joys and difficulties of being a parent is a good way to meet other parents and share experiences. You can blog about amusing and challenging situations, discipline, the latest toy or anything related to children. Ask visitors to your site to make comments about their own stories and experiences. Use these comments in future blogs.

Blogging is great way to connect with many people around the world. How successful you will be depends you. Always post regularly, providing new content that is interesting and entertaining so visitors will visit your site. Never let your blog become stale. Everyone is passionate about something or is an expert in some area that others would find interesting and informative. So, don't wait any longer. Start blogging today!

5 Tips For Developing A Better Blog

For anybody wanting to develop a better blog the focus must first be placed on how the site is structured! Of course everything starts with offering great content but a good blogger is also concerned with the routine upkeep and how the site displays to others! Remember, although traffic is extremely important, careful consideration must be given to getting return visitors to your site as well! Without these return visitors you stand little or no chance of developing reader loyalty and thus a large following!

Here are 5 relatively simple ways to increase the exposure of any great content you post and to build a loyal following when blogging!

Use Keywords Strategically

Any time you are creating something new to post to your site you'll want to be mindful of choosing and using your keywords! Although great content is something that readers find useful and/or entertaining, you also want to attract search engine traffic! Your careful and strategic use of keywords will help make it easier for search engines to find and rank your updates! Be cautious however in where you place these words or how often they are used!

Use Plug Ins Sparingly

One thing any good blogger recognizes is the value of using plug ins that make their site operate more efficiently! Some plug ins even improve the way your platforms displays however it is equally important NOT to go nuts by loading up the site with too many! These handy little widgets often require to be updated and many can even disrupt how your blog operates and/or displays! Select and use what you NEED but avoid the temptation of overloading the site with them since this can create complications!

Update Religiously

If you really want to increase the number of return visitors to your platform you must give then a reason to do so! People land on your site primarily to view the information you offer therefore if you offer little in terms of fresh new content people have no reason to come back! To become a really good blogger you must accept the 'responsibility' that the platform must be updated on a consistent schedule!

Advertise Conservatively

As mentioned immediately above people visit your blog to view great content and NOT to be sold! Many bloggers are intent on making money from their blogging efforts however having too many ads can actually distract readers which can lead to decreasing the amount of return visitors you may get! Go easy on the ads and focus more on simply publishing great content for readers to enjoy!

Accept Comments Happily

Always allow any readers to leave their comments or input when they land on your blog since this is half the enjoyment of visiting blogs! These platforms are actually meant to be highly focused social sites and every good blogger recognizes the value of allowing their readers to interact! Not only does this help create a stronger sense of community but comments are also a terrific source for new writing ideas! Using reader comments helps many bloggers become more of an authority in their field as well as building more traffic through the referrals of satisfied readers!

Developing a better blog can be done by first focusing on how you 'structure' the platform along with the great content it no doubt contains! The 5 tips offer here today are easy to implement and are standard practices adopted by most every good blogger found online! It all comes down to not only attracting traffic with something of interest to read but also taking the measures needed to get more return visitors as well! Ultimately traffic and building a loyal following is what you need to strive for to be successful blogging!

Making Money From Blogging: Is This Still Possible and How?

People have different reasons for setting up a blog. These include wanting ot drive traffic to an e-commerce site; making it another source of income; or they might want it just for a hobby to have fun with. Often it's a mix of these, sometimes event all three.

Whether set up on a blogging platform, such as Google's Blogspot, or on an independent website, a blog won't make money without visitors. Be warned, there is no quick and easy route to getting lots of traffic. It takes time which you might be prepared to invest yourself, or employ someone else for.

Content

The first element of this is publishing regular, quality content. Generally blogs do better traffic-wise if their content is themed to match a niche.

Thus, if you are a wine importer, your blog can be a series of articles about the wines you offer, whether they should be drunk chilled, and what food they go with. Occasionally you might want to digress and give information about a wine tasting trip or an area where the wine is produced. But somehow there must be a wine connection, either direct or more subtle. Many of your readers will find this interesting so it should be easy to find ideas for your content.

If you own a direct delivery transport business, you might have to think of some other way to keep your readers coming back for more. For example, your blog could be a kind of travel journal, filled with the interesting places and things you or your drivers see from the cab or at break time. But don't forget to mention the satisfied customers at the end of the journey, too, if the website is for raising awareness of your services and getting more customers.

Content should be interesting, well written, in an appropriate tone, and updated regularly, preferable more than once a week. To bring visitors from search engines, it should also have a smattering of key words and phrases sprinkled around. Think up a catchy title that includes a keyword or two as well.

Reading and Commenting

Once you become a member of the blogging fraternity, you can't just write your own blog, you want other bloggers to read your content, and make comments, and if you reciprocate, you will build up a following and become popular. Anyone blogging as a hobby will soon make virtual friends this way.

Don't forget that, if you belong to social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook, you can set up a feed to let your friends know about your blog posts and get more traffic that way too.

Advertising for Cash

When you accept adverts on your blog that will bring you an income, you are participating in affiliate marketing. You will receive a commission either on the number of views and clicks the ads receive, or on resulting sales, or both. You can display ads from any number of affiliate marketing schemes to have multiple income streams, but remember that a much cluttered blog page can be off-putting to the majority of visitors, so it's best to select just a few.

One of the most well-known way to make money blogging online is Google Adsense. You select the size of the space you want to make available and Google fills it with ads. However, the earnings from just one blog are very meagre, and Google only pays out once you have $100 in your account (60 in the UK and 70 in the Euro zone). Google does give you lots of tips on how to maximize your earnings but you really need to have Adsense ads on multiple web sites to reach payout in a reasonable amount of time.

You could also put Amazon products and referral links on your blog. They pay a slightly better rate than Adsense and will probably have a higher conversion rate. This is because Amazon is so well known, and trusted for internet trading.

ClickBank, Commission Junction and LinkShare are affiliate networks representing many business clients whose products and services you could advertise in your blog. You will get a much higher rate of commission on sales through these networks.

If you sell your own products on-line, you will also advertise these and set up links to your sales pages.

Content for Cash

Some advertisers prefer a more subtle way of raising awareness of their products. They will pay you to write about it in your blog. Sites like Blogsvertise, PayperPost and Social Spark act as agencies for this, putting advertisers and bloggers together for their mutual benefit. The more traffic you receive, the more likely it is that your blog will be selected for a particular assignment. Some of these agencies will not even accept your blog unless you have a Google page rank to prove its popularity.

You've probably gathered from the above that blogging is not likely to make you a fortune. Given time and effort, however, it could give you something of a supplementary income on a regular basis and yes, you can make money blogging online!

Facts To Be Known About Blogging

The term 'Blog' is the shortened name of Web Log. It is thus a website and comprises text, hypertext, images and links to other web pages. The act of making addition of articles to the existing blog is termed 'Blogging'. Individual articles so posted are termed blog posts, posts or entries. One who posts these entries is called a 'blogger'. These postings are arranged in reverse chronological order; the latest being featured first. The concept of blog emerged in late 1990, coinciding with web publishing tools such as HTML and FTP. Blogs usually cover certain specific areas such as web design, home staging, sports, or mobile technology. Other blogs may present link to other types of links. There may be yet other blogs dealing with political activities, personal experiences of the author.

Most of the good quality blogs have provision for interaction, wherein visitors are allowed to make their own comments and exchange message through GUI widgets on the blogs. The objective of blogging is not only to make contents for posting onto their respective blogs, but they adopt it as a medium for establishing and maintaining social relationship. There are a number of ways in which blogging is utilized such as remarks and views on specific topics, personal diaries, and brand advertisement of a company. Blogs have certain common features such as a main content area, with articles arranged chronologically, an archive of earlier files, a way for visitors to leave their comments, a list of links connected to other sites, called blogroll and feeds such as RSS, Atom or RDF files.

Content is the principal constituent of a web site and needs to be up-dated with the latest information, on regular basis for making it worth visiting. The information may be a catalog of products presented in a retail site. It may be about campuses, curriculum and faculty presented in a university site. You may find a number of observations, reviews or comments if it is a personal blog. Content consist of articles written by authors, composed in a web-based interface that is built into the blogging system. Next to 'content' come the 'comments' that the visitors to the sites are allowed to leave on the blogs. Through pingbacks or trackbacks, one blogger can leave comments on another blog without visiting it and also can keep other blogger informed as and when they cite any article from other site into their own.

There are different platform for blogging like "Wordpress", "Blogger", "Joomla", "Drupal" etc. Other terminologies you need to know about are Archives, Feeds, Blogrolls, Syndication, Trackbacks and Pingbacks. Monthly or Yearly archives keeps track of articles on site. A software 'Feed readers' provides automatic access to a site looking for new content and thereafter, post updates about the new content to other site. Blogroll is list showing links to webpages that may be of interest, often coming in a side bar. A feed is a content publication readable by a machine, usually XML. Syndication feeds informs new posts in blogs. Trackback facilitates notification between websites and Pingbacks provides solutions to some problems found with trackbacks.

Successful Content Marketing - Avoiding Obstacles

Content marketing requires a great deal of effort if you are doing it properly. Remember, you get out of it what you put into it. Your online content marketing strategy is critical and streamlining it regularly helps you to succeed.

Whether you have had your online marketing strategy in place for a very long time or it is rather new to your business, it is important to look at it with a critical eye and to recognize when and where you can improve upon what you already have and learn how to recognize and avoid obstacles that can create kinks in your strategy. The following are some of the most common obstacles that business owners encounter:

Constantly coming up with new, fresh topics: It certainly isn't the easiest thing in the universe to constantly come up with new topics about which to write, especially if you write frequently and on a regular basis. There are several ways in which you can approach the writing and coming up with new topics. First of all, it is very important that you pay attention to what other people are discussing online. This is a representation of the topics that interest people in your target audience. Of course, this doesn't mean that you should copy exactly what other people are saying. You need to take the concepts and use words that are uniquely yours. Another excellent way to come up with fresh topics is through your discussions online with your readers. In many cases, they will tell you what they want to read about, whether by directly suggesting topics or by more indirect means, such as through some other aspect of the back-and forth interactions that are hopefully occurring among your readers. If you are able to do it, planning your content topics well in advance is a great way to never be at a loss. That sort of organization often takes the stress out of the writing. If you come to regard writing as fun, you will be inclined to want to do it more.
Organizing your content effectively: A critical part of your online marketing success is your organizational ability. If you are not capable of being organized and efficient, you won't be able to really make a go of successfully marketing your content online. The first thing that you should do (and there are really no exceptions to this rule) is to use an editorial calendar. It is probable that your calendar may not look exactly the same as someone else's calendar; however, the concept of using some sort of calendar is a critical one to the success of your business. It is extraordinarily important that you know exactly what you are writing and when you are writing it. Without a calendar, you are inviting chaos into your professional life and that is the last thing that you want or need. If you don't want to create your calendar from scratch, there are several downloadable calendar templates from which you can choose. Additionally, there are many articles online that will explain which components you should have in your calendar. Help is only a click away.
Maintain your writing focus: When it comes to writing content (whether it is online or print content), being productive is at the top of the priority list for all writers. You have been armed with online tools that no doubt help you to become productive and stay productive. If you feel that your current online tools are working for you and they allow you to stay organized and efficient, that is great. However, if you aren't so satisfied with what you are using, you should be aware of the fact that you have other options when it comes to the mechanics of the writing. There are tools for you to use that will allow you to store your writing ideas online so that you can pull them up whenever you need them (a kind of indexing system) and there are also tools that will allow you to "talk" through your ideas by using an auditory function and thus avoiding being faced with a "blank page."
Compartmentalizing the various aspects of your content: Depending on your own professional needs, compartmentalizing the various aspects of your content may be advantageous for your ultimate success. If that is the case, there are certain aspects of what you are writing that you can try to identify early on and thus avoid issues at a later point in time. First of all, it is essential that you keep a close watch on your workflow. If possible, you should try to identify where your bottlenecks might be and make sure that your process takes into consideration the possibility of those particular issues.
Creating a well-organized and intelligent repository: As a writer, you are probably well aware of the fact that ideas can come from so many different people, places and things. You can become inspired out of nowhere, which is wonderful! However, it is important to understand that if you don't hold onto those ideas, you will lose them, which means that you are allowing some potentially incredible topics to slip through your fingers. What a waste that would be. You can create a file for ideas and store them or you can use any number of online tools that have been created specifically for that purpose.
Streamlining your process: After you have written your content and your next step is syndicating it to your various social media channels and groups within those channels, you can easily automate either some or all of the process. The more you can syndicate, the more you will have time to work on other valuable aspects of your business. Because of the volume of available content online, the sooner you get your content to your readers (as well as getting the content to as many readers as possible), the more you and your business will start to hold the position of top of mind for your readers.

Conclusion

"Content Is King" but once you are ready to share your wonderful content with other people, it is important for you to recognize the potential of obstacles that can get in the way of your success and do everything possible to get around them. You start with excellent-quality writing and reach the finish line in the most effective and most direct way possible. As was already discussed, you can draw inspiration from many different places. It is just a matter of what you do with that inspiration. If your communication technique is good enough, you won't encounter obstacles that will stop you from doing what you want and need to do.

3 Reasons Why You Need To Start A Blog

The first step in converting more sales online is traffic generation. There have been several studies conducted that shows that businesses that blog tend to get more traffic than those that don't. Now if you happened to be in the minority and do not blog for some strange reason, I'd like to bring three key benefits of blogging to your attention.

Many people still get a blog and a website confused, but they're actually very different. A website is more utilitarian, it serves as tool to show the function and basic information of produces and serves, as well as process transactions. A blog is a tool that allows you to build a relationship with your prospects and customers. It's a hub where you can show your brand personality and what it's all about. A blog is a community hub.

As I stated in the last paragraph, blogging attracts more visitors to your website. The more you blog, the more fresh content you're creating and Google like fresh content. So naturally, the more content you produce the more traffic search engines will send your way. You'll also benefit from getting more pages indexed, which will increase your chances of getting organic search traffic.

Blogging also builds credibility and positions you as an expert in your industry or niche. People are usually online searching for a solution to their problem, and/or tips and tricks that will help them save time, money, or effort. By blogging, you have the ability to create insanely useful content that answers all your customers questions. This builds trust overtime and trust is the foundation of a successful business.

Your blog is your central hub online. It's the home of your brand, and the place you eventually want to drive all your traffic. While most might not see it as such, your blog acts as a very effective lead generation tool. Blogging is a great way to attract leads that can in turn convert into customers or email subscribers.

Lead generation is an absolute necessity for every business. A blog is that type of lead gen tool that's always working for you, 24/7. Once you produce the content, it gets indexed and people search and come to your blog. Once there, they consume your content and get a feel for who you are and what you're all about. If they come to like your brand they'll subscribe to your email list or other retention channel, which will allow you to communicate with them more in the future.

Guest Blogging For Enhancement of Web Traffic

Guest blogging is a method adopted by bloggers for increasing visit of more audiences to their blogs. For this, they write posts for publishing on the blogs of other bloggers. As a blogger, you may write a post for appearing on the blog of another blogger. Alternatively, another blogger may write a post for appearing on your blog.
Guest Blogging is a strategic initiative for getting advantages by penetrating into the domain someone else. It therefore requires a lot of home work to be carried out. Your post must make a two-way effort of benefiting the host blog and at the same time, and reaping the benefit for your own business.
Besides strengthening your business relationship with an accomplished publisher, Guest Blogging may benefit you in any of the following ways-
Being in the content marketing, you may be well-versed with your topic but have no independent identity of your as such. You are a nondescript as far as content market is concerned but guest blogging may make you acquainted with your prospective clients along with some authority. You need to submit maximum contents within the shortest time.
Adding more traffic to your site does not necessarily draw more audience because traffic can be bought through pay-per-click or alternative means of advertisement. But traffic generated from a guest blog yield you a group of audience that is curious to know what you say. This creates an opportunity for you to convert them for a long-term business relationship.
Guest blogging builds up the network of your publisher by enlarging their connectivity with accomplished publishers. If you establish a good rapport with your parent blogger, you may succeed in getting a tweet or a link from him that would take you a long way towards getting an independent identity in the content market.
Guest Posting enables you to get a relevant, natural link by the use of anchor text of your choice.
The following are the tips that may interest you
Before submitting your post on another person's blog, get information about the contents and audiences of that blog and their comment about the blog.
Make a convincing approach to the other blogger with regard to your credibility and your strong points why the guest blogger's audience would like to read what you write.
Provide latest statistics about your blog with regard to unique visitors month wise supported by your rankings made by Google, Alexa and Technorati.
Instead of buttressing the other blogger with undue pampering, present yourself with facts and figures in an honest and straightforward manner. Value for the other person's time. Avoid furnishing flowering data about yourself.

http://blackagendareport.com/content/nelson-mandela%E2%80%99s-long-death#comment-41940

Make the other blogger realize that you are well-versed with the blogging activities and that your contents will be unique and will not pose any copyright problem for him.
Convince the other blogger that your contents will be coherent and compelling, providing links to your blogs and samples of online writing.

Competitive Advantages of a Membership Site Over a Blog

Competitive advantages of a membership site over a blog, forum, static website and newsletter

Websites were originally static but of late the new dynamic versions have taken the world wide web by storm leading to an increasing number of site owners opting for the same. Dynamic websites make the whole experience for your visitor more enhanced and intriguing.

Membership websites are today one of the most lucrative online niches mainly due to the following reasons:

1. Regular incoming revenue (you sell the membership once and in return get paid weekly or monthly or yearly on a regular basis).

2. Huge value add. Even with a limited/small number of paid members you assure yourself of a tidy recurring income.

3. You have the option to even outsource your membership business once everything is in place and running efficiently.

4. You yourself don't need to be an expert in the subject area of your membership site. You can very well function as a facilitator and may very well bring in outside consultants if need be.

5. A membership site business is like having money in the bank which if need be can be encashed in one go if you do decide to sell the whole thing. This is so because a running business with a steady regular income commands a very high premium in the market!

Pre-requisites to setting up a membership site

Before you actually set up your venture do consider the following salient points:

- The subject matter.

- How you feel about the subject.

- The target audience.

- The author or contributors of the website content.

Why is a membership site superior to the other options like a Blog, Traditional website, newsletter etc.

A blog is a site that hosts content by the Author who publishes new content at regular intervals. Visitors or followers or subscribers to the blog then comment or make posts on this content and the two way communication goes on therewith.

A traditional or old school static website does not have an interactive feature like a blog and usually only puts emphasis on its static pages.

A Newsletter is a communication usually sent via email to its subscribers informing them of new happenings or summarizing the same.

In total contrast a Membership website includes all the features of a blog, static website, dynamic website, newsletter and much more. The advantages of opting for a membership site are as follows:

Social Presence

You are able to increase your social presence instantly and add to it by involving people through forums, chats, discussions and more.

Member Generated Content

A great way of ensuring that your content is fresh and new is to let your members themselves post and comment on discussions or topics that are of interest to them. This will literally bring to life your entire membership site increasing its value per se.

Social Media

All of social media (Twitter, Face book, YouTube etc) is today interconnected which makes it the biggest fish in the sea. Once you harness this it will be easy to enhance your reach and advertise your product/service.

Cash Flow

Right from the launch you charge fees etc from your subscribers/members in addition to generating revenue from running advertisements etc all of which generates revenue.

Member Tracking Statistics

You are able to keep your finger on your members pulse and thereby inform yourself of their likes, dislikes, preferences, inclinations etc. This is the key to then presenting them with stuff that you know will interest them!

1. Provide excellent content. This is the very first step. Because if you don't make a good "product" in your blog, no one will take a chance on you any other way. You won't have readers to buy anything for you. You won't be able to attract anyone to you; much less what you want them to buy. Make sure you are writing engaging content that people want to read.

2. Work on getting traffic to yourself. Learn basic marketing to get new readers to your site all the time. Readers are the reason you're going to make money, so take the time to make sure you're getting them.

3. Make money from using ads. Once you have a readership, advertisers will start wanting to work with you so that their ads are seen by different people. Make up a media kit that details how many site visitors you get a day, what the demographics are like, and how your site is growing. Advertisers will love it and you will make a bit of money every month.

4. Sell something as an affiliate. If you have no products of your own but still want to make some money with your blog, you can do that by being an affiliate of someone else's product. Just make sure that they are a reputable company you can trust to pay you, and one you can trust makes good products. Try to use the product yourself before you recommend it to your own readers.

5. Check out job posting for bloggers. You can moonlight as a blogger for another person's site, and if you use the right technique you will do such a great job they will ask you to do it over and over. Make sure you get a feel for their site before you start writing the post, though.

The growth of the Internet is phenomenal. It is a kind of expanding universe. To keep a place in it, you need to expand with it. Writing a blog can help you do this, expanding both your own knowledge and your customer base.

6 Reasons to Start a Business Blog

There are all sorts of reasons you may have for not blogging.

- You are busy.
- You don't like to write.
- You don't know what to say.
- You tried that and no one ever read it.

When was the last time you considered all the reasons your business should have a blog? Here are the top 6 reasons to start and stick with blogging:

1. Forms the Core of Content Marketing - Are you interested in practically free marketing for your business? Of course you are! With just a little time and effort you can attract new leads to your business. Content marketing gives away valuable information to consumers. By doing this on your blog, you build your reputation as a thought leader in your industry. People come to trust your advice, and when they are ready to buy, they buy from the business and people they already trust.

2. Improves SEO - Search engine optimization may seem like a difficult or overwhelming task. But what it really comes down to is creating good, relevant, and up-to-date content that readers want to read. One of the best ways to do this is by consistently blogging. With all that fresh, optimized, information-focused (rather than product focused) content on your site - search engines are bound to love you.

3. Personalizes Your Business - Take this opportunity to put a face on your business. Rather than blogging from a stiff, corporate prospective, put your personality into it. Have your employees blog too, and give them freedom to be unique. As readers get to know each of you through the blog, they will form relationship. This relationship will generate higher quality leads for your business.

4. Taps into Various Expertise - With different people blogging for your business, you give potential customers access to a wider depth of knowledge. You and your staff have diverse interests and expertise, so give people access to that resource. You want it to relate back to your core business identity, but this variety will help engage various types of consumers.

5. Provides a Resource for Current Customers - It's said that it costs anywhere from 5 to 10 times more to get a new client than to keep an existing one. Furthermore, according to Bain & Company, "Increasing client retention by 5% can increase profit by 95%." To increase your customer retention, you have to offer excellent customer service. A blog provides an excellent venue for addressing frequently asked questions, providing service updates, spreading the news of any problems with product or service, starting a forum to connect customers, and offering another point of connection to keep customers happy.

6. Keeps You Sharp - Blogging involves an online connection with customers, leads, and others in your industry. By staying engaged in this way, you stay on the top of your game and ahead of your competition. When you are blogging about the latest industry news, answering the latest customer questions, and providing helpful information for online users, you are forced to do more research, read related news, and keep up to date on latest developments and trends. Plus when you teach something, it helps further cement that knowledge into your brain. This type of acumen building is exactly what you need to run a successful business.

It is time to lay aside all those excuses and start blogging. Remember, results take time, so stick with it and let the customers start coming to you rather than chasing them down.

5 Ways to Make Sure Your Website Offers Great Content

Content is one of the most important parts of your website. There's a reason why many people say "content is king." There are other important factors, and your website won't thrive without things like traffic, but what your everyday website visitor will notice most is your content. It has to be good. How do you make sure you're offering great content to your visitors?

1. Know What Your Visitors Need From Your Content

Great content isn't always paragraphs of information. Graphics are content. Lists are content. The information on your page in general, however it's presented, is your content.

It will never be great unless it's what your website visitors need. If you're selling a physical product, for example, words on the page are rarely enough. Pictures of the product, possibly including the ability to look closely at the item and at multiple angles, may make the difference. Videos can also be useful.

Don't, however, rely excessively on pictures or videos. Not every visitor will be in a situation where they can watch a video, and you can only learn so much from pictures. As much as possible, make sure information in your pictures and videos are available in print. Transcripts are a good idea for many videos. Link to a transcript on another page if it's too much to put on the same page for any reason.

If it's information you're providing, make sure it answers your website visitors' needs as best you can. You can't predict all needs, but you should have the information your site claims to offer. If it's an information product, include information to help your visitor decide that it's the right purchase. Your content should reflect the needs of your audience, not your own needs.

2. Include References When Appropriate

You don't know everything, even when you're an expert in your niche. Linking out to appropriate references makes you look better. It reinforces that you know what you're talking about. It's one thing to quote a statistic, for example, and quite another to show where it came from. When you're using information from elsewhere, don't just quote it, link to your source for it if at all possible.

3. Pay Attention to Popular Content in Your Niche

You should know what's happening in your niche so that you can take advantage of it. You need to do this not only on your own website, but on the sites of major competitors. This information has become fairly easy to gather as many websites clearly display the number of Facebook likes, tweets and other social media shares a particular page has received. That's highly useful information.

4. Set High Standards For Your Writing

Writing isn't as easy as some people think it is. Coming up with the right words takes time and tweaking. Not every writer can sit down and crank out the perfect article or marketing material in a single shot. Many find it far better to write, put it aside, and edit later from a fresh perspective.

If you hire others to write for you, set a high standard for them as well. Whatever appears on your website, reflects on your website as a whole. Allow a lot of low quality content to appear and your website won't impress visitors as a great resource.

5. Keep Trying

You may not learn the tricks to providing great content to your niche right away, no matter how well you know it. It takes time to develop your writing style and to get accustomed to what works online. The less you work at it, however, the longer it will take to master.

Writing every day is a good place to start. You may not feel that all of it is worth publishing to your website, but no one says you have to. Put the stuff that just isn't quite working aside - somewhere down the line you might find a use for it, even if it takes a complete rewrite to make it happen. Take the good stuff and polish it until it's good enough for your website.

Effective Guest Blogging

Guest blogging is really hot for businesses nowadays. It is really beneficial for all parties. It helps the business owner to introduce a greater volume of fresh content and it helps the guest blogger to gain valuable and widespread exposure.

Guest blogging rules

As a guest blogger, it is difficult at times to understand how to behave, what is expected of you, etc. When it comes to guest blogging, one of the most important things to remember is that the final word belongs to the person who owns to blog. More and more people are starting to realize how valuable it is to be a guest blogger because of the amount of exposure that they get from it. With the wealth of blogs on the Internet, it is very possible to be a guest blogger for several different blogs and businesses and it is an excellent way to increase your exposure and boost your professional reputation. Potentially, you can reap even more benefits if you guest blog. Many companies will be willing to pay you if you write them blogs. The reason that many business owners are willing to pay is that they feel an obligation to constantly and frequently provide fresh content online and guest bloggers help them to do that. Of course, the guest blogging market will become more and more competitive among blog writers, especially if there is money involved. There are other reasons as well for companies wanting to use guest bloggers:

A link back to the business owner's website: Guest blogs generally have a call-to-action with a link back to the blog owner's website. That is an excellent way to generate new website traffic. The traffic, of course, will eventually turn into people who want to buy what is being offered.
High-quality links: When a blog has high-quality links, the blog will be regarded positively by the search engines. The higher the business's rankings, the more people will pay attention to that business and will want to interact with people working there.
Great exposure to a large audience: When a guest blogger has an article that is posted on another blog, they will have the benefit of their audience reading the article as well as the audience of the blog owner. That blog has a great chance of also being shared on a much broader level and the greater the reach of the article, the better the brand awareness will be for the business that owns the blog as well as the blog writer's business.
Establishing a reputation as subject matter expert: If you are posting blog articles on specific topics (whether you wrote them or someone else wrote them), you are establishing yourself as a subject matter expert. The reason that this is so important is that you want people to think of you first the next time they have a professional need that you are able to fulfill. You want to be top of mind.

Getting your blog articles accepted

There are several different ways in which you can ensure that your blog article is accepted on someone else's blog and if you use the tips that will be discussed, you should be able to achieve that quite easily.

Always make sure that your links lead back to a good-quality website: This is critical to your success as a blogger. The chances are very high that your readers will click on the link that you provide in your blog article. The last thing that you want or need is to have the reader end up at a website that is not reputable or seems unprofessional. Basically, it is important that both ends be of the highest quality. In other words, the quality of your blog writing must be excellent and the website that is linked to your blog content must also be excellent. It is important to remember that there are two reputations on the line at all times: yours as the writer and the blog owner's reputation as well.
Be careful where you post: It is very important that you get involved with the blog for a while in some capacity before you actually become a guest blogger. You should develop a relationship with the business owner before you approach him or her about becoming a guest blogger. Your connection to that business should be solid and genuine.
Get to know what the business and the business owner represents before you guest blog: The term "guilt by association" really applies in this situation. If you have gotten to know a particular business well, you will be able to determine whether you are a good fit for that business. It makes no sense to blindly submit blogs that you are hoping will be posted. There has to be a relevant connection between what you are writing and what they are selling.
Sell your blog idea to the best of your ability: When you are discussing your idea for a blog article to a particular business, it is very important for you to give the blog owner an opportunity to get to know you to a point, whether that is through Email, on the phone or in person. There are some questions that the blog owner may ask you and you should be prepared with the answers. They are:Why do you want to guest blog for that specific blog? What is the subject of the blog article and why would it benefit that particular blog? Are you flexible about revising your blog article to suit the blog owner?

On the part of the blog owner, it is perfectly appropriate to request that he or she respond to you and let you know whether he or she has decided to publish your blog article. There is no reason why the blog owner shouldn't at least read your article, even if it never gets published.

Promote your blog article through social media channels: Once your article is posted on the other person's blog, you should share it with all of your online connections, including social media groups and business directories, if appropriate.

Conclusion

You should consider guest blogging. It is a wonderful way to gain additional exposure and boost your professional reputation to great heights. Of course, you should also have your own blog and it is a great idea to encourage other people to contribute to your blog as well. One hand really does wash the other when it comes to online content. So, go out and find guest blogging opportunities, of which there are many. Your content should be focused on your niche and your target audience will reach out and interact with you. You need to have a different mentality when you are pursuing guest blogging opportunities. There is no reason why can't open your mind to doing all sorts of exciting things with your expertise.

Why Search Engline Optimization is Important?

SEO or search engine optimization is the process of fine-tuning a website so that users and search engines can find it easily on the World Wide Web. Not only access it easily but also find it attractive, fast, and easy to navigate. Such an improvement results in a website with high ranking in search engine result pages or SERPs, which is something every website owner or online publisher wants to achieve. Many proven SEO techniques have been made available to general public and experts of this field. Although the basic steps are easy to implement, once the process is started you find that it is an ongoing system that requires regular commitment.

There is no use of an online business if the users are unable to find it. Potential customers can only approach your website if it is listed in online directories and indexed by popular search engines. This is one aspect of SEO, which makes it an integral part of any business that has its presence on the internet. Even if you launch an extensive advertising campaign, the traffic might still be very low. This is because those advertisements are geared towards your current customers but do nothing to attract new customers from around the globe.

People find it easy to search on the internet instead of rummaging around a newspaper or listening to a radio broadcast to get what they're looking for. Online search engines also give highly relevant results based on the keyword we type in the search box. This way you can locate a local business very easily, note down its address and telephone number and even find directions to reach its office. That is why optimizing your business website for search engines is important for the success of your business.

Google and other search engines have bots that crawl the web to find new websites every day and index them automatically. Before any search engine has a chance to discover your website, you should make sure it includes all the necessary information for the bots to understand, such as what the site is all about and what type of products it sells, etc.

Some websites are very professionally made, include impressive graphics and video tutorials, but they are still very difficult to find on the internet. People usually see the first ten results given by a search engine and if your website is not listed in these results it is likely to be ignored by your potential customers. And this is what you should spend your money on, instead of hiring graphics experts and complex coding specialists. This is because even if your site is not very attractive visually but it is easily accessible by the users, you have achieved 90% of your objective!

The term blog is derived from the word weblog. It started as a personal online journal where people could write and publish their own thoughts and opinions about any subject that they wanted to talk about on the internet. These are published and viewed in chronological order making it look like an online diary. There are many authors who still describe blogs as online diary. However, these are not just used to publish the personal musings and tattling of people, because these are also used for business. With this perspective in mind, it can also be said that blogs are special type of websites.

How to Drive Traffic to Your Business Blog: Hire a Business Blogging Service

According to a survey done by Hubspot, those businesses that have a blog see 55% more web traffic than those that don't. Given that they are relatively inexpensive and can bring in significantly more visitors to a site, it is no wonder why business blogs has become as huge. Blogs can not only bring in new leads but encourage those who do visit you to come back again. While many people accept the fact that blogs help to generate leads, not everyone knows how this is achieved. If you find that you fall into this group, don't worry, we will clarify everything for you. Let's take a look at what factors are involved with improving web traffic and how a business blogging service can build upon them.

The Search Engine Optimization Factor

How it helps: Statistically speaking, the chances of your site being clicked on if it isn't on the first few pages of a web search are pretty low. In fact, not being in the top 10 can dramatically reduce your chances of getting clicked on. Blogs help to improve your search engine ranking by having content that appeals to web crawlers (the programs that a search engine uses to match a search with relevant content). The sort of things that the crawlers look for are: relevant keywords, blog length, blog format, and the quality of the blog.

How a Blogging Service can improve it: The biggest way to get a web crawlers attention is with strong keywords. In order to get these keywords you need a professional who can find what the hot keywords are for your industry as well as pick which specific ones will gain you the most exposure. Experts play a balancing game of determining which keywords are too general and which ones are too specific to help with visibility. When they are too general you can easily be pushed to the hundredth, or even thousandth page in a search. If they are too specific the crawler won't pick you up at all.

The Social Media Factor

How it helps: Social media is becoming increasingly important in driving blog traffic. A good percentage of our total internet activity is spent on social media sites, and linking your blog with these sites is essential to finding new leads. Brief content can be posted on these channels that peeks your followers interest and encourages them to follow your links back to your blog. Also, whenever someone Likes or Retweets your blog post they are endorsing your content and sending it out for others to read, increasing your exposure.

How a Blogging Service can improve it: First off, a business blogging service markets your blog through your social media channels. This lets your social media followers know that you have new content to check out and brings them to your site. Second, when you have great, professionally written content, your readers are more likely to share that content with others.

This article should show you how to set up and successfully launch your new blog.

Step one is to determine what your blog is for and if the subject might be interesting to others. If you have correctly identified your purpose, for example, this will help get you off on the right path. When using a blog for your marketing, you'll have to dedicate that blog to the product or service you're promoting, offering important tips, ideas and news related to those things. On the other hand, if you want your blog to be personal, you can write and post on one or a variety of subjects.

Step two, SEO, search engine optimization, is needed, when trying to create a blog that's successful. Popular search engines, like Google or Bing, use SEO to help rank your pages, a page 1 ranking gives your website greater exposure If you don't know how to effectively write SEO, you should research and learn how to write SEO, or hire somebody who does know, to write the necessary SEO for your blog to make your blog a success.

Step three, is that it is absolutely essential for you to use correct spelling and proper grammar when writing your blog. Sloppy writing is considered by most people as a sign of laziness. One of the most common reasons blogs fail is because of the use of bad grammar and spelling mistakes. Most readers will think that if you do not take the time to utilize good writing techniques, the information will be of no use to them.

Step four, is to ensure that your readers know that they can depend on you to post new and relevant information often. This can be accomplished by setting up a blogging schedule and following it. Many blogging sites offer the option of loading several blog posts and setting up an automatic deployment. This system will allow you the freedom from having to manually post daily.

Finally, once you've launched your blog, make sure that you have an easy way for your readers to comment. You can develop strong reader relationships by utilizing the comment area of your blog. If you decide to allow comments on your blogs, you will need to respond to the comments. You may receive a few negative comments; the most effective way to respond to those comments is to quickly reply. Respond firmly and quickly, remember to never respond in a harsh way. It's important that you don't let your reaction to a single post ruin your blog.

Your Website - Make The Best of Your Marketing Tool

Generally a website is budgeted for and created as a marketing tool (or in some cases as a customer tool, e.g. a membership site or a support site). So, on that basis - thinking about the marketing aspect - surely the idea is to create something that firstly attracts visitors and then through a process converts them into leads and customers? Why then do we get hung up about the style and type of website that you have, over a much bigger consideration?

Personally I'd like a website in a style and type that attracts visitors and converts them into customers. A website needs to be in line with what your customers want, not you as a business owner. On that basis the type and design of your website needs to be in line with your visitors', and potential, customers' needs and wants. Not what your web designer wants, not what you want... what your prospects want. I'm not saying design isn't important but that it is only one element of website effectiveness, not the main part as is so often thought to be the case.

Can your website be found online as a solution to customers' problems? When you want information about something, you Google a phrase relating to what you want to know in the hope that you will find a website that will give you the answer, or at least the beginnings of the answer.

What implications does that have for your website as a business owner? Your content needs to be based on your keyword research. So your website needs to include content that will be likely to appear in search results for the phrases that your prospects are searching for. That's where keyword research and optimising your website for those keywords comes in. You also need to be providing useful content that will engage your prospects when they find your website. If they select your website following searching for 'help' then you need to be providing them with that help or at least a route to getting it.

The easiest way to do that for all businesses nowadays is to set up a website based around a blog, which is how you can easily publish relevant content. Websites with an integrated blog are becoming more and more popular and are very search engine friendly as well as flexible for you to update yourself. It is easy to integrate this type of website-blog with your social media activity and, in fact, can enhance that activity by providing you with an on-line hub where you can send your connections who want to find out more about what you have to offer and who are looking for answers to their questions.

One of the strongest marketing technique is to position yourself and your business as 'expert' in your niche, field, local area (however you are describing where your target market will be looking for you). And with a blog-website integration you have a much better opportunity to do that with all the content that you can publish to help your visitors and prospects.

New website-blog collaborations are now easily customised to provide a very appealing design. When you know what you want from your website, a little research into which blog-website combination to use and a very business-like website can be built. So be open to the possibilities that a blog and website could generate - like visitors and customers!

Don't be put off looking at what's on offer, thinking that it doesn't have the right 'look' for your business or because it doesn't fit your existing idea of what a website should look like or what it should do. If you genuinely want an online presence that will bring you more leads, more prospects and more customers you need to embrace the new content-rich, dynamic websites that can be built. They do take more ongoing focus and work to keep them effective, but in exchange you will get more business.

Branding 101: The Expert Authority Benefits of a Personal Blog

Full disclosure; I'm bad at blogging. It's not that I struggle with the technical aspects of optimizing one, or placing opt-in forms in the proper place or even with writing content. I'm good at all of that. It's just that I'm a tinkerer and perfectionist by nature; any of my college professors can tell you that I am fully capable of finding fifty things wrong with a paper that they gave a perfect grade. However, that is quite enough about the trials of being me.

If you intend to gain any type of traction and be taken seriously as an Internet marketer, you need to start and maintain a blog. There's simply no getting around that fact. Blogs, you see, are the perfect venue for building a long-term following and driving traffic to your money sites. They are naturally built to engage in a torrid love affair with search engine bots, and if you take good care of your blog, it will take good care of you.

I cannot stress the following point enough: when trying to build a following, you must remember that people follow people, not products or companies. Everyone that you are promoting too is promoting something, and 97% of them are failing at it, and failing rather spectacularly. They will follow anyone that they believe will lead them where they want to go, and this is where you and your blog come in.

In The Land of the Blind...

Enter any keyword related to Internet marketing, and somewhere near the top of the rankings, you will find someone's blog. In fact, you are likely to find several of them (go ahead, try it now). Several factors explain this phenomenon, not least of which is the fact that blogs are SEO magnets. Search engines look for fresh content, and a well-maintained and structured blog has plenty of it. The content is only part of the equation.

Because blogs are, to a large degree, self-contained miniature social networks through their commenting feature, master bloggers' sites are likely to contain many backlinks, or websites pointing back to it. In the eyes of Google, Yahoo and Bing, this gives them an air of authority. However, this is not an article of blog SEO.

By posting relevant content on your blog on a regular basis, coupled with a working knowledge of the aforementioned SEO, you reap the benefit of being an authority in the eyes of the search engines. This means that your site will receive many visits. If your posts are well-written, informative and timely, you become an expert not only in the eyes of Google, but also in the eyes of your readers. As such, they will return to your site, comment (providing even more backlinks), post your articles on social networks, bookmark them (more backlinks and traffic), and even link them to their blogs, if they have them.

Most importantly, you have begun to develop a relationship and a feeling of trust with potential prospects. Opt-in boxes in your blog's sidebar and RSS subscriptions provide you with an avenue to have some form of personal communication with your blog's readers - with their permission! So long as you do not abuse this awesome privilege, you now have a steady and targeted flow of potential buyers to market to, and potential signups for your affiliate products (if you sell your own products) and/or network marketing programs.

You do not have to be an expert of everything Internet marketing related, or anything, for that matter. A little research, or a well-done rewrite of an article you have acquired the rights to will set you well on your way. A side benefit is the fact that as you begin to regularly maintain your blog and add content, you actually will start to become an expert. Until then, even the little bit more than your readers that you know makes you someone to follow. In the land of the blind, the 3% that have a clue are the kings.

Why Choose the WordPress Blogging Platform Over Other Blogging Platforms?

For bloggers who have just gotten started, which blogging platform they should choose is one of the most confusing decisions they have to make. Usually, bloggers have three top options to choose from, namely Blogger, Tumblr and WordPress are the top choices.

However, when it comes to creating a professional blog, the most rock-solid choice is definitely the WordPress blogging platform. Unlike other blogging platforms, there are many things that can be done with a self hosted WordPress blog.

The biggest advantage of a self hosted WordPress blog over other blogging platforms is that they have no limitations. A cost efficient blogging platform might seem like a good choice for bloggers who have just started their blogging career, but in the long run, WordPress is certainly the best choice.

Why Choose WordPress over BlogSpot?

1. Control over your blog.

This is a major reason a WordPress self hosted blog is the better choice. For instance, Google is the owner of Blogger, which means that they can delete a Blogger account without giving the user any warning. Even if the custom domain feature is used, it is still more likely that a Blogger site might get flagged or reported as spam. Google can even remove a blog. This problem has been faced by many bloggers and can be avoided by switching over to a self hosted WordPress setup.

2. Search engine optimization.

Traffic is vital for every blogger, whether their site is hosted or not. In simple words, search engine optimization is the optimization of a blog for search engines and to get traffic from search engines. Many search engine optimization options are offered by the WordPress blogging platform and does not limit users to particular settings.

3. Plugins and support.

The great thing about WordPress is that has features such as plugins and a strong support community. On other blogging platforms, such features have to be added and bloggers often have to edit their theme to show related posts. With WordPress, things become a lot easier since there are simple plugins available for everything that might be needed. Anything can be achieved by using plugins available on WordPress and custom code can be obtained from the WordPress support forum.

4. Reputation

When considering a platforms reputation, Blogger is not regarded as a reputable blogging platform by most people. Apart from the fact that it is free, it is also being used by a large number of people for affiliate landing pages, bad SEO practices and spamming. On the other hand, when looking at WordPress blogs, the bloggers are considered serious about their blog because they paid for the service.

5. Theme and templates

No doubt, many templates are offered by Blogger. However, WordPress offers almost unlimited choices of free and premium themes because of the commercial nature of the WordPress blogging platform. Moreover, Since WordPress bloggers have FTP access, so the whole feel and look of the WordPress theme can be altered by it.

6. AdSense

All those bloggers who wish to earn money from their blog always turn to AdSense. Initially, the best way of getting an AdSense account approved was to create a Blogger blog. However, now bloggers are finding it hard to get their AdSense account approved with a Blogger blog. On the other hand, another advantage of a self hosted WordPress blog is that it is easier to get a blog approved for AdSense.

7. Reselling your blog

The resale of Blogger blogs is strictly not allowed by Google, but things are different when it comes to a WordPress blog. A WordPress self hosted blog can also be resold. Thus, bloggers can even make money by reselling their WordPress blog.

8. Social media websites

WordPress is perfect for who are active on bookmarking sites such as Digg, reddit and StumbleUpon, and on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. It is also a well-known fact that sites such as these are not very fond of Blogger blogs. In global standard, the WordPress blogging platform is considered more acceptable.

Along with all these other benefits, WordPress is regularly updated and new versions are constantly released. As a result of this, new features and functionality continue getting added from time to time. So it is obvious why the WordPress blogging platform is the better choice over other blogging platforms.

Topics

Sometimes, these writing services do not meet your demands or satisfaction. It will be good if you have your own ideas. There are stacks of topics that will surely catch your readers' attention. Of course, your own concept is important in making it more interesting to your target audience.

2. Instructions are helpful to readers. These also include guidelines and tutorials in using certain products or in following particular procedures or techniques.

3. Topics that talk about the latest and trending news about a service, product, or any related theme are also interesting to read. Examples are best of the best, survey results, breaking news, etc.
